Massage In The Media

"The whole process of the Boeing Company making chair massage available at the work site, is one enabling physical, mental, and emotional well-being of employees so they can work to the best of their ability. Chair massage works perfectly, it's a morale booster, it shows the company cares about them, and there is low-cost involvement on the part of the company. It's catching on like wildfire" --- Bill Parkinson, Jr. of the Boeing Company

Massage

"The hormone called oxytocin gets a boost after massage, according to an article titled "Massage makes you happier and healthier" in the January edition of "The Good Life", an online magazine for people over 40. The article quoted a study in the Journal Psychiatry that measured the oxytocin levels in 25 women. Increased levels of oxytocin can reduce cortisol levels, ease anxiety and positively affect relationships, 'Research has found that blood levels of the hormone rose significantly following neck and shoulder massages.' Since chronic elevation of cortisol is a predictor for early onset of hypertension, heart disease, stroke and cancer, reducing cortisol can help you live longer, stay healthier and feel younger. The bottom line; massage increases oxytocin levels, which decreases cortisol and makes you happier and healthier."
